A Guide to Finishing the Year Strong


As you approach the end of a tough workout, you may experience a sudden burst of energy and motivation despite feeling fatigued from physical exertion. This phenomenon is known as a second wind. Just like in your workouts, you can also make sure you finish 2016 strong with a second wind working towards fitness goals for months. When you have the right mindset, your body will become capable of achieving amazing feats!

1. Redefine your goal

Keeping the initial goals you set for yourself in the back of your mind, consider creating fresh goals that are more relevant to where you currently are in your fitness journey. Setting new goals will get you excited and motivated to maintain your fitness this Fall. Be honest with yourself of where you truly are at and set attainable goals that you can still be proud of!

2. Start now

The sooner you get to the gym to execute the goals you set for yourself, the sooner you will reach those goals. Don’t let time pass you by! The more time that passes, the more likely you will become apathetic and unmotivated. Have a passion for reaching your goals and you will always be ready and willing to hit the ground running.

3. Make it your priority

The only sure way to make sure something gets done is to make it a priority in your life. With the other things you have going on in your life, working out can easily get lost in the crowd and eventually forgotten. When you set a certain importance to working out, and design your schedule around it, you will have a good chance of seeing the results you want.

4. Think of your reward

The beauty of approaching the finish line is knowing when you are going to reap the reward. Set a countdown to the final day of the year. And map out enticing rewards for yourself so you have something to look forward to and work towards.
