Here at Youfit, we always stand by the saying that, “it will not always be easy, but it will be worth it.” When it comes to getting results, this could not be more true. Getting where you want to be takes that little bit of extra effort not only inside the gym, but also outside.
Often a change may be required for you to start reaching your personal fitness goals, but don’t fret. it may only take small tweaks in your routine and lifestyle to start seeing the results you’ve always wanted.
If you’re struggling to see results or have hit a plateau, try incorporating these three changes into your regime and lifestyle.
1. Create a Plan
Sure, you can go to the gym and just wing it. But for most people, this can lead to a lazy workout session with slow (or no!) results. Connect with a YouCoach and create a plan to reach your fitness goals. Having a workout schedule and nutrition plan will keep you on a consistent progression.
Our YouCoaches are a great resource to utilize when coming up with a fitness program. Regardless of whether you’re a beginner or more advanced in your fitness journey, they can assess your current fitness level, goals and lifestyle to create a feasible and effective workout regime. Remember, all new Youfit members are eligible for a free fitness assessment by a certified personal trainer.
2. Watch What You Eat
What you do outside of the gym matters just as much as what you do inside the gym, if not more. How you eat could be preventing you from achieving your goals. If you eat fast food on your way home from the gym, you could actually be cancelling out any true progress you’ve made.
Unlock faster results by really looking at your calorie intake. Using a tool like myFitnessPal, which connects into the official Youfit app, you can track calorie and nutrient intake. With the right mixture of veggies, fruits, lean protein and healthy fats, anything is possible.
3. Change Up Your Routine
If you do the same exercise with the same intensity every time you go to the gym, you are not likely going to see results. The body becomes accustomed to exercise and needs to be challenged in order to change. Step outside of your comfort zone and try new workouts, like a group fitness class. This will challenge new muscles and help you get faster results. Challenge yourself with a new routine or increased intensity and you will see results.
