10 Benefits of SilverSneakers Classes for Seniors

The Silver Sneaker Program at Youfit is an amazing benefit to our members!  This is a program based on insurance eligibility, not necessarily based on age.  Having said that – most of our members that take advantage of this program are our senior members.

Senior members are so important and benefit so much from this program because not only do they need the services provided, but they want them!  As one of the Arizona members said at our Silver Sneaker Social the other day, “I love coming to Youfit and going to the Silver Sneaker classes!  My body feels so much better when I come, my balance is better and I automatically make better nutrition choices.  My friends are here, so we set up lunch and movie outings, and love the socials that Youfit provides each month!”  (Beth Kenney).

The great part about Silver Sneaker classes is that they are motivating, fun, and serve a purpose.  Each member that walks through the door has the opportunity to get whatever they need most.  Some of them need the strength, some balance, some need something to be held accountable to in their day, and some simply come for the social.  Whatever reason they come to the gym and take a Silver Sneaker class – their needs are met by an instructor with a smile on their face.  It’s always fun to come to class when the instructor knows your name and is happy to see you!
