Sometimes you may feel it’s hard to find time in your schedule to get to the gym. We get it— we’ve been there too! Between school, work, family and having fun with friends, it can be difficult to find time for a workout. However, it is possible to squeeze a workout into your day without eliminating other tasks. Here are five ways you can gym happy, no matter what.
1. Wake up earlier.
If you feel like you are constantly pressed for time in your day, try waking up just an hour earlier. At first, it might be hard to open your eyes, but once you get up and drink a cup of coffee or water you’ll be awake. Make it even easier by going to bed in your gym clothes so you can wake up and go! Once you push through the first couple of weeks, it will become habit. Starting your day with your workout will leave you feeling accomplished and energized, all day long.
2. Take a lunch workout.
If you can’t wake up any earlier, spend your lunch hour on a nice walk or at the gym. It’s an excellent way to break up your work day and spike up your endorphins! By getting out of the office, you will be able to come back for the second half of your day refreshed. At Youfit we have an Express Circuit that takes only 30 minutes to complete. Perfect for a quick, full-body workout!
3. Schedule it into your day.
Perhaps you struggle more with time management than lack of time. Begin by scheduling your workouts into your day. Actually, write them as appointments in your planner or online calendar. Invite a friend or family member to join you on your workouts to help keep you accountable and motivated!
4. Pack your gym bag.
If you are quick to make excuses about not wanting to go to the gym or have trouble remembering to grab your gym bag before heading out for the day, plan ahead. On Sunday night, spend some time packing your gym bag for the week. Put enough socks and gym outfits to get you through however many days you aim to work out. Include your shoes, hair ties, deodorant, etc. and throw it in the trunk of your car. Now, you’re really prepared for the week!
5. Find an accountability partner.
If you have a hard time getting to Youfit regardless of the time of day, find a gym buddy to work out with! You can be one another’s accountability partner not only to get to Youfit but also to push yourselves not to give up halfway through your workout. Another great accountability partner is a YouCoach personal trainer. YouCoaches can schedule your workouts for the week and expose your body to different and new exercises to help you reach your fitness goals.
